For nearly 14 years, FIND ART information bank has been assisting the arts community with locating opportunities and assisting clients with broadcasting opportunities to the arts community. It has proven to be a good, solid, award winning information service. I want it to be a great service.

FIND ART was developed at a time when for most artists, locating opportunities meant that one had to purchase assorted art-related publications or attach themselves to an organization in order to gain access to opportunities. Essentially, artists have always had to pay-to-play on several levels, while those needing the services of artists and/or providing services to the arts community, enjoy a free ride when it come to marketing their opportunities. As an artist, I’ve always felt that this system was working backwards and was not functioning on behalf of the artist’s. My intent from the beginning has been to flip that model. Perhaps having to purchase those publications and actually being paid to participate in an exhibit at an early age, help to shape my warp perspective.

Although this process has changed dramatically for the benefit of artists and pockets of information is available throughout the internet, I continue to feel strongly that a centralized information service where the thousands of artists represented in every state could gain access to the thousands of opportunities throughout the U.S. I feel that such a service would not only better serve the larger arts community, but also those needing to reach the arts community.

When developing FIND ART, I knew that the engine that would make it run and succeed would not be me, but the many artists that responded to the opportunities listed on the service. In many respects, FIND ART has always been your service. My primary focus has always been developing ways to help the arts community. Now it is time to move forward.

In order for our next phase to become a reality, I not only need you to be the recipients of information featured on the service, but also a participant in securing clients to list announcements on the service. And if that’s not enough, I also need for you to serve as a catalyst for ensuring that artist’s throughout the US are accessing the service. Simply put, FA Vision 70/30 is about placing you in control to play a more active roll in the growth of FIND ART.

From the beginning, my philosophy has always been simple: artists should not have to pay to gain access to opportunities. Those that need the services of artists and provide services to the arts community should pay to reach their target market – and should be handsomely rewarded for their decision by reaching as many within the arts community that they intend to reach.

The success of FIND ART in moving forward depends on you. By working collectively this can be a great service.
